Hey fellow redditors! I’ve decided to try Reddit again as I had one positive experience from here and on apps I do meet people but it doesn’t go anywhere further. I’m mostly looking for someone who I can have a good conversation with and is willing to spend time together regularly, from time to time. Therefore, I’m not looking for penpals or people who can’t communicate as I don’t want to waste time. I’m open to any kind of connection from FwB to something short or long term if there’s a will from both sides. Who am I? - Introvert INTJ as per Myers Briggs Test though I’m not a stereotypical one as I like to spend time outside of my flat. - Work in finance - I like my job as it’s intellectually stimulating and rewarding. - I prefer to have few friends rather than dozens of acquaintances as quality is far more important than quantity. - Prefer small groups over large gatherings though events like concerts, gigs are definitely fine by me and I do attend these from time to time. However most comfortable social environment is chatting 1-1. - Live on my own in a small apartment (nothing fancy yet) that I’m renting though would like to have my own place in a not too distant future. - I do all of my activities on my own yet generally feel comfortable with this but wouldn’t mind doing some of them with another person. Sometimes I join hiking groups on Saturdays or Sundays and I take foreign language and squash classes so probably these are my only ‘social’ activities What I do in my spare time? - arthouse cinema (I have a Classic membership with Curzon, but also go to the BFI, ICA), - museums, art exhibitions (generally prefer contemporary art/design/street art and good old historical museums), - theatres (but not musicals!) - travelling (I travel within Europe and over the last 2.5 years I’ve been on more than 12 foreign solo trips), - books (non-fiction, biographies, historical books), - music (the less mainstream the better, I also listen to music in foreign languages, favourite genres are shoegaze, hip-hop, trip-hop, electropop, ambient, indietronica) - sportwise: gym (2 a week), running, squash - cooking: I enjoy cooking East Asian dishes and when I don’t feel inspired or I’m lazier than usual I cook one pot dishes or get food from my local Persian restaurant - Other stuff: I can hold a decent conversation about politics, geography, current affairs, modern history, some basic sociology, anthropology and philosophy as well as about some curiosities from the world of science etc., I’m not a massive sports follower and the only sport I have a vague idea about in terms of what’s going on is football but it mostly only involves checking the results and league tables from time to time so you wouldn’t see me watching a game every weekend. This means that I don’t contribute to football office chat in my office lol Appearance, views and vices - White European (Eastern European) - I prefer to be open about this as I got unmatched/ghosted a number of times when I told where I come from so there’s some prejudice. - height: 5ft 9inch/177 cm, weight: 66-68kg, body type: slim, complexion: very pale, eyes: green, hair colour: very dark brown/black, resting angry face as a bonus so unfortunately I’m not photogenic, I’ve been told a few times that I look younger IRL :D - Views: liberal with some mild social liberal inclinations, agnostic, non-smoker, alcohol only occasionally with a drink of choice being a glass of red wine or port and on special festive occasions maybe Cointreau, or Baileys Looking for: - Women only - Appearance wise I don’t have a type as I view people holistically and I develop attraction over time. The only red flag would be body size so anything more than curvy is probably a “ no” from me. - Someone who has something in common based on the description above - I’m also happy to learn new things. - Not pen pals as from my experience it’s draining and doesn’t lead anywhere. - Anything from FWB to something long-term (only if there’s a mutual attraction and will from both sides). I don’t like labels. The key aspects are regularity, mutual understanding and good communication. - Not particularly experienced but I like to please. - Character wise someone who accepts me for who I am (I’m not a social butterfly and I don’t have a large circle of friends), - Good communicator and conversationalist and is willing to sometimes spend time together, you should share some of the interests or just be keen to learn about new things (hopefully I can also learn something from you or you can teach me something!), honesty, clear communication and open-mindedness are characteristics that I value as well, you shouldn’t also be conservative or religious as probably this wouldn’t work. Conclusion Although I’m an introvert I care about people who I trust and are close to me, so if you’re looking for someone loyal and who thinks about the emotional needs of those who are the closest, then here I am :) If you are interested please feel free to send me a message. As I’ve said I’m only interested in IRL meetings at some point in a not too distant future (week-two, maybe three). From my experience LDR and purely online connections tend to be a waste of time and are emotionally demanding so if you want to chat for months then probably I’m not the right person. As I’ve mentioned, based on my recent experience, another important aspect is a regularity of some kind if we click as I don’t like being played around. Rather than just saying “Hi.
